Member Benefits

1. Medical Liability Insurance - Florida Orthopaedic Risk Purchasing Group -  BSOF members receive a 25% discount on medical liability insurance purchased through the FORPG.  This translates to thousands of dollars for individual surgeons and an estimated $8 million savings to the entire orthopaedic community in 2009.  Participation in the FORPG is limited to FOS members.

2. Credit Card Processing– Charge Card Systems, Inc – thru our relationship with Charge Card Systems if we are not able to save you money on your credit card processing we will pay you $500.  Charge Card Systems is so confident they can save you money if you go through an analysis with them if they cannot reduce your merchant fees they will cut you a $500 check just for going through the process.

3. Group Disability Insurance – Northwestern Mutual – thru our relationship with Strategic Employee Benefits, BSOF members can save 15% on their group disability insurance premiums for their employees.  Contact Brittany Hooper for more information: brittany.downs@nmfn.com

4. Workers Compensation Insurance – Opta Comp– thru our relationship with Comp Options you can now participate in one of the few dividend programs for workers compensation insurance in the state.  Danna Gracey administers the program on behalf of the BSOF.  BSOF members routinely receive dividend checks from Comp Options at the end of the year.  Take advantage of this opportunity to get a little money back from your workers compensation policy.

5. Coding and Reimbursement Services – The Coding Network – The BSOF has negotiated a free coding review of 10 cases.  Be proactive!  This is a great way to analyze your internal coding staff and processes and improve documentation and collections.

6. Payer Audits –  Medrecover – The BSOF has initiated pilot programs with Medrecover that will assist you in recovering money owed to you by insurance carriers.  Medrecover is adept in auditing records and discovering money you should have been paid.  Working on a contingency basis, they get paid only when they recover money for you.
